What to do I need to know as new Cadet of 318 Woodstock Corps?
For many Canadian Youth joining the Cadet Program is their first step towards learning what it takes to become a leader, over the course of your cadet career you will be taught a variety of skills and information to help prepare you to become a senior cadet in our Corps.

- One of the greatest skills in life to learn is self-sufficiency; take responsibility for your actions, in-actions and decision.
- Now that have joined you are now a part of 318 Woodstock Army Cadets. Your peers, whether they be they be the same rank, senior or junior are all here to enjoy the program, have a good time, and learn a new things. Treat them the way you wish to be treated
- Your dress, deportment and attitude go a long way in making you stand out for good or for bad.
- The staff and senior cadets are here to guide and mentor you. If you have a problem feel free to ask to meet with a staff member and we will as soon as possible, we can't help you solve a problem that we aren't aware of.
- Keep the old saying in mind "One man, one kit"; any personal items or equipment that gets issued to you is your responsibility.
Promotion Process
In order to get promoted and advance in rank, cadets must meet certain criteria to become eligible for promotion. Once a cadet has met this criteria it is then decided by the Commanding Officer when to promote the cadet, promotions are conducted typically during closing parades.

Late Joiners
The optimum age for a cadet to join and get the most out of the cadet program is 12-13, this gives them the fullest experience and the most time into their training. In the event that have an older cadet join the program, the Training Officer will meet with the cadet to figure out the best training level to introduce that cadet into based on age, maturity and preference within the guidelines of CATO 13-02 Annex A. Late Joiners will also be given a Training Packet to get them caught up on important subjects covered if previous years training.
